My name is Steph. I'm 24 years old and weigh 168. My goal weight is 125 because that was my after baby weight. I just joined LJ a few hours ago. My husband, son and I moved to Germany almost 4 years ago. My husband is in the Air Force and we are here until May and as of right now we aren't sure where we will be living next.

I have started my daily workouts 5 days ago, with maybe a day or two of not keeping up with it) but because I'm new to this community I'm going to start with my daily sharing tomorrow (Monday). It will help keep me motivated to keep up with the workouts.

I'm glad to be apart of LJ and this community! :-) I'm looking forward to making friends!

Try tuning in to Ruby, Style's hit reality show about Ruby Gettinger's battle with obesity.

"One day after watching, I was like, 'I need to go to the gym,'" recalls Molly Sullivan, 42, a human resources worker from Camarillo, Calif. "Ten days later, I joined a gym and now we're four months later and I'm losing weight."

And how's it going for Molly?

Molly has shed 41 pounds! So it was no surprise that she was among the the hundreds of people who came out yesterday morning to join Ruby (see photo above) on the Los Angeles stop of her nationwide "Walk Across America" tour.

"I saw these women crying on Oprah, talking about how they never went out of their homes," Ruby told us. "They're fighting the same thing I'm fighting, but I've always gone out my home. I was 716 pounds and I lived my life no matter what."

Ruby recently heard from one such woman who started riding a bike after she saw her doing it. "She said these kids were making fun of her so she said, 'I'm not going to do this anymore,'" Ruby said. "But then she thought about it and said, 'Yes, I am,' because she heard what I said, that they'll eventually shut up. She said they did shut up and now they're her friends!"

Ahh I'm so tired, it's sad that I get tired from working so easily. I work 4 days a week, 6 hours a day, but it kicks the shit out of me. UGH! So anyways, i've been running. I run in the morning before work and go at least 5 miles...6 days a week. So that's pretty good, and I just ordered turbo jam and it should be here soon, so I'll add that to the morning thinnng too. Which means I'll have to get up at like 6 to do 2 hours of working out, but w.e it's worth it. How's everyone else doing?


and byyy the way..give me some sort of opinion, i think I may move down to Connecticut to live with my sister and go to high school here. (I'm living here for the summer because my mom cares more about her boyfriend than any other person in the family) I think I would like it a lot better..but I don't know, I guess I'll have to add more to the story of why I want to move down here but that's for some other time...tooo tired, i'm a wimp )=

Looking for a new fitness program? How about trying the Presidential Fitness Challenge. This challenge comes in three varieties:

1. The Active Lifestyle Program - For those of you who aren't active on a daily basis yet, this is a great way to begin. The rules are basically to get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week, for a total of 6 weeks.

2. The Presidential Champions Program - If you're already active and want a new challenge, this program is for you. Your goal is to see how many points you can earn by staying active. Points are based on the amount of energy each activity burns. So the more active you are, the more points you'll get. When you reach 20,000 points, you'll earn a Bronze award. Then you can continue on in the Presidential Champions program for a Silver or Gold award.

3. The Advanced Performance Presidential Champions Program - This is basically the same system as the Presidential Champions Program, except that the award goals are higher. For instance, you need to get 40,000 points to earn a Bronze award.

1 Matcha shot w/OJ (Jamba Juice)
Medium carrot/ginger soup (WF)
Small salad (Rainbow salad, corn, and mixed greens from WH)
1 juice box (apple)
6 chicken nuggets
1 small fry
2 glasses of sangria
6 coconut shrimp, yellow rice, and red beans
guacamole and tortilla chips
Half a serving of fried ice cream (a scoop of vanilla ice cream, rolled in coconut and cornflake crumbs, flash fried, and served with whipped cream and a cherry)

Today (30 min workout):
Small bowl of yogurt w/granola
1 bowl of rice krispies w/2% milk
1 square of ellio's pizza w/pepperoni
1 slice of strawberry pie
Turkey sandwich on oat bread w/tomato and cheese

God, it's hot. Well, I have my internet back, so I can put in my menu for the last 3 days:

Thursday (and hour of work out):
1 Bowl of rice krispies w/2% milk
1 slice of cinnamon raisin bread
6 inch subway sandwich (hearty italian bread, cucumbers, lettuce, tomato, 1 chicken breast, bacon, american cheese, sweet onion sauce)
1 king cone
Plate of leftover chinese (shrimp and brocoli, white rice, veggies, 1 chicken wing)

Friday:
16 oz Orange A Peel smoothie from Jamba Juice w/Matcha and Femme Boost
Breakfast Preztel pastry (WF)
Medium Chicken Noodle Soup (WF)
Buttermilk Biscuit (WF)
Nacho Cheese Chicken Chulupa and Apple Empanada (Taco Bell)
Asian Salad (McD's)

Saturday (Strawberry Festival):
1 Bowl of rice krispies w/2% milk
1 bag of Smartfood's white cheddar popcorn
1 jumbo corn dog
1 ear of roasted corn
1 plate of strawberry shortcake
½ of a funnel cake w/maple syrup
3 fried oreos

I was very bad on Saturday...lol.

My name is Monique, I'm about 125-30lbs, 5'8, and I'm a lazy bastard. Well, not so much a lazy bastard anymore, b/c I've started to do some aerobics, and I'd like to tone myself up a bit. This is less about losing weight (I'd float away if I did), I just want to eat a little healthier, and firm up my abs. I guess I'll be using this mainly to post my food intake for the day (I want to incorporate more fruit and veg, which is easy cause I love them) and to monitor my excercise. My food logs always include water so I'll only put down juice if I drink it. I'll make edits on them as I go through the day. Feel free to add me or get in touch (aim: qotsachick84)! :-)

Yesterday's food:
1 Bowl of rice krispies w/2% milk
½ Glass of orange juice
Part of muffin w/bran, carrots, coconut, apples, sultanas, pecans in it
Turkey sandwich on whole grain oat bread, w/1 piece of lettuce, 3 slices tomato, 1 slice cheese
Small section of fruit salad, and a little of “Rainbow Salad” (from Whole Foods)
6 Chicken McNuggets and small fry...grrrrr (I know it's bad, but I was getting on the subway, and I was sooo peckish)
Broiled salmon filet w/spinach, brown rice, and zucchini

Today's food and excercise:
40 mins of working out + 8 mins of ab training (I'm currently using Carmen Electra's Fit to Strip, I know it sounds flaky, but I def feel the burn and I drip sweat when I'm done. (And I did the work out after the cereal and juice, and before the yogurt.)

1 Bowl of rice krispies w/2% milk
½ Glass of orange juice
Small bowl of yogurt w/pecan granola (The Baker brand is really good, total yum.)
Leftovers for lunch: Broiled salmon filet w/spinach, brown rice, and zucchini, plus half a boiled potato
1 glass of cran-apple juice (half juice/half water)
1 pizza hut personal pan (pepperoni)
1 cup of Sierra Mist

it seems a bit quiet in here, but I saw this community and just thought I'd introduce myself, as this is my fitness log. :) my name is katie, I'm 25 years old, and I started making a conscious effort to take better care of myself about a year ago after I quit smoking cigarettes about 2 years ago. my goals are mainly to exercise regularly, drink enough water, and eat 5+ servings of fruits and veggies daily. with journaling I do keep track of what I eat, although I'm not a calorie counter, and I don't own a scale or restrict myself in any way. I just want to be stronger and feel better through *trying* to meet those goals every day. so I'd like to meet like-minded livejournal friends who have health- or fitness-related journals, to share the usual support and encouragement. feel free to add me to your friends list. :) good luck!

Hia my names lisa im 21 i weigh around 170 last time i weighted myself i was at 168 but my weeks been down hill and i think i might have gained weight :(.
Anyhow i can't seem to get into working out so i need a place to post how much i worked out each day. If anyone wants to push me on that would be great and i would not mind pushing anyone on if they need it!

Hi everyone, I'm Amanda, I'm new here. I have been trying to find a place to post my daily workout log rather then just my personal journal. I figured if others were actually reading what I was doing then it would give me one more reason to get up and do it. Support is always a good thing. Would that fit with in the bounds of this community? Thought I would do a quick post to see peoples thoughts before hopping right to it. So let me know.


Other then that a little background. I'm a 24 year old grad student. 5'5" and about 105-107pds. My main concern is since coming to grad school I have been less active in my everyday life. In undergrad I worked in the Theatre scene shop everyday so I had built up a lot of muscle and tone. Now I have lost a lot of definition and starting to see the muscle replaced with fatty deposits around my tummy and butt. Well a year and a half later I decided I am tired of it and have started on the path of regaining some of my muscle and putting my metabolism back where it should be.

So that is me in a small nutshell. Feel free to hope over to my regular workout journal silly_giggles or my regular journal which is on my info page. Hopefully I will be posting daily stats up too.

morning people, how's tricks?
i just have a quick question. i'm in training at the moment and do a lot of running, free weights, that kinda thing. i'm trying to get my abs and arms into some sort of shape while raising my fitness level.
a friend of mine suggested drinking a raw egg after a workout as it's supposed to help the body in some way...is he just pulling my leg or is there any benefit from drinking eggs?! (if so, what?!)

hello
not v proud of my food intake for the past few days.
but am back on track and that's what counts.
have started exercising with tad heavier dumbells.1.5kg.
and i feel the difference.
i do 2 sets of 8-10 reps.
and i do it every day.
is that a good strategy?

if i decide to stick to walking instead of gym or home workout how often should i do it and for how long?
i have just posted about the fact that i walk to work and back.....not sure how many km would that be...but let's say that i walk rather fast and it takes 30mins-one direction.
if i want walking to be my main cardio how often should i do it?

survived the exam period...hopefully will have more time now to focus on my work out

been eating alright today
(touch wood!but i think i've stopped craving bad carbs....
like yesterday evening i was kind of peckish so i grabbed my container with nuts..few cashews...few pistachio nuts...and some grapes....it feels really really good)
anyway

today:
woke up at8
1tsp honey
water
zinc
banana
coffee


was in a bit of a hurry.....so skipped my mid morning snack

coffee

LUNCH:
now hat was a treat

boiled mushrooms&carrots
(no salt/oil)
raw tomato
roasted pumpkin seeds&some cashews
soy paste
olives
1 pickled green tomato
toasted brown bread-2 thin slices
dressing made of 1.6% yogurt
and a tsp of mustard
herbs....
was delicious
and uber healthy

walked to work
snack
two apples
some plums

1/2 cup yogurt

still at work......will wlak back home and have a cup of yogurt with a tsp of gomasio and a handful of cashews

that'll be around 1100kcal.

all.is.well.





now work out....
well i have to take out the-no-time-card for workour..since i have a very hectic schedule
student/proper job
but what i do instead:

i do light weigh workout every morning..it is really really light.....
and lastst for about 5-10mins
also i walk a lot.
at least 60mins a day.
i take stairs instead of an elevator.
i know i should put some mnore effort here......and am thinking about running again....i used to a month ago but i have three big exams and it is really hard for me to manage everyhting.

any tips for me?
or any criticism?
feel free to add....whatever you feel like saying.
